Namorian Infantry

"The humble Namorian denizen - be he a citizen or a conscript from the colonies, must fulfill his duty to the state, in armed service at home or abroad." - King Anax the Merciful.

Though primarily a sea-based power, the Namorian kingdom must still field armies on land. This is where their citizen soldiers and levy troops come in - acting as spearmen or skirmishers in battle.

These concept sketches are more of an exploration of what these units might look like, rather than a final design draft. I like them so far but will continue to develop them together with the wider Namorian world and society.

The Namorians are a seafaring fantasy civilization I'm developing as part of a collaborative worldbuilding project with fellow fantasy and history illustrators and enthusiasts. They are heavily influenced by Bronze and Dark Age Greece, and other Egean and Mediterranean civilizations.
